AWS Data Exchange ( and AWS Marketplace ( make it easy for millions of AWS customers to securely find, subscribe to, and immediately start to use third-party data and software products in the cloud. We are looking for candidates with particular experience and interest in data focused businesses. Furthermore, candidates should be enthusiastic about working with external and internal customers, and about learning how to use third-party data services and software products to implement solutions using technology to empower customers and scale the existing platform.

In this role, the successful candidate will help drive the growth and adoption of AWS Data Exchange with customers of all sizes and in focus industries Financial Services, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Media & Entertainment, and Retail, Location & Marketing across Asia Pacific. The ideal candidate possesses a business development and technical background to help drive revenue growth and adoption, and is able to and interested in working across the Asia/Pacific region as needed. Candidates will need to be self-starters, customer-centric, and very delivery-focused with a track record of exceeding goals. The candidate must be willing to operate in a multi-faceted way and work with a dynamic community of AWS Data Exchange and AWS Marketplace third-party sellers, AWS Consulting Partners, AWS Field teams, as well as AWS Service teams to help customers achieve their transformational goals through the combined power of the AWS service offering and our third-party seller partners. Specific Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop a strategy that positions AWS Data Exchange as a strategic growth pillar of the overall AWS business in Asia Pacific. You will also develop mechanisms to establish new business in target market segments, and work with the field organization to drive the day-to-day interactions of identifying prospects for long-term business opportunities. You will work very closely with the Sales, Partner, and Professional Services teams to identify and prioritize areas of focus, help drive adoption and market penetration across APJ.
  • Plan and execute all aspects of customer recruitment and on-boarding, development and successful launch of new BD programs, including participating in complex contract negotiations. Specific goals include helping drive paid and free subscriptions on the service and generating ‘customer wins.’
  • Track and quantify customer operational challenges to build repeatable processes including, automation of repetitive tasks, tooling improvements, and operating procedures
  • Engages in senior level customer meetings to discuss customer business issues, and explores how AWS Data Exchange features and programs can help address and resolve these issues
  • Help to handle a high volume of engagements and the fast pace of the cloud computing market
  • Ability to multitask and manage portfolio of projects - work prioritization, planning, collaboration, and management
  • Execute business development plans while working with key internal stakeholders (e.g., AWS service teams, AWS Partner Network, legal, tax, support)
  • Facilitate enablement of both third-party sellers, as well as AWS internal colleagues.
  • Facilitate communication between AWS Data Exchange Product Management Teams, Engineering Teams and customers who participate in new feature launches.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to deliver results independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment with a strong sense of ownership
  • 7+ years of business development roles with strategic analysis and/or program/product management experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a customer-facing environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English ,including group leadership and executive presentations.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities from a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Knowledge of data licensing workflows, data agreements, and data governance processes
  • Solid understanding of Cloud computing technology and the utility pricing model


Preferred Qualifications:
  • An understanding of Amazon Web Services and its services
  • Local Business Contacts within assigned region
  • 7+ years of industry experience in data-focused businesses
  • Fluency in additional regional language(s)
