As an Education focused Account Executive within AWS, you will have the exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to enable academic institutions to transform their business as they navigate the new challenges being faced in the industry.

Your responsibilities will include developing a deep understanding of the customer’s unique business model and how AWS can help them to serve their students and conduct research. You’ll also work closely with the AWS product/service teams to help them evolve the products/services and address issues, concerns, and requests specific for this vertical.

The ideal candidate will possess both a business background that enables them to drive an engagement and interact at the CxO/VC level, as well as a technical understanding that enables them articulate how technology can enable business transformation. They should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A keen sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is a must.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of enterprise sales or business development experience with quota accountability and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets year over year in IT.
  • Direct field experience in working with higher education accounts and at executive level, and understanding of their business drivers
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges
  • Knowledge of Cloud Computing and it's applications
  • Excellent communication and writing skill with the ability to be both technical and analytical.
  • Self-motivated with a great sense of urgency and follow-through.
  • Good understanding of education procurement and contract vehicles.
  • Ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years enterprise sales or business development experience with quota accountability and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets year over year in IT.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience interacting at VC/DVC and Head of School level
