About the Role
The successful candidate will join a dynamic, market-leading legal team as a Legal Counsel and be responsible for providing legal services to multiple business units across the BOQ Group.
You will be a banking and finance specialist, acting as a trusted advisor and providing strategic input and legal solutions in relation to lending matters for BOQ Retail, BOQ Business and BOQ Finance (asset finance) and its related subsidiaries. You will also have the opportunity to assist with strategic projects and provide general corporate advisory legal advice to the Group’s strategic sourcing team and treasury and financial markets units also serviced by the Lending and Corporate Legal team.
The role will require a broad skillset with the ability to provide professional and high quality advice including:
- Extensive Banking and Finance training in private practice with a respected firm; and
- Strong commercial legal skillset with the ability to advise on a range of third party contracts.
The successful candidate will be required to be admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia and have proven experience in private practice. You will be able to work both autonomously and as part of a close-knit team and liaise on wider BOQ projects from time to time. You will have a strong skillset primarily in the commercial and corporate space with experience advising lenders and borrowers on complex lending matters.
