We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Manager to join us in Invercargill where you will be able to help cover the Southland and Central Otago regions.
This is a key position requiring the delivery on all contractual obligations and taking responsibility for leading a large, highly skilled and diverse team delivering service to major telecommunication companies. You’ll motivate and engage with your team to generate a productive team atmosphere. There is a strong commercial focus which will see you involved with business planning and reviewing performance to ensure budgets are met, service levels are maintained and that work is delivered efficiently.
To make things happen you’ll:
- Complete site visits with the technicians,
- Prioritise day to day operations
- Delegating field work
- Work with the Work Management Centre to ensure adequate resources are in place.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Downer's Zero harm policy and all procedures are followed in a correct and safe manner.
It is imperative that you have worked with telecommunication technology, have field experience in service-based industry and will likely hold a Level 3 or 4 NZQA Telecommunication qualification to further support your credibility in the business.

In addition, you will have well developed communication skills, a focus on customer service, a reputation for effective client engagement and an ability to influence at all stakeholder levels
You’ll offer a high degree of business acumen, be adept with commercial financial requirements and have a sound understanding of cost management. Your achievements will showcase your ability to plan, lead and organise both people and resources to deliver results. With your solution focused approach you will make sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications and cost.
