Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions.
We are responsible for strategy, planning, policy, regulation, funding allocation and other non-service delivery functions for all modes of transport in NSW including road, rail, ferry, light rail, point to point, regional air, cycling and walking.
We focus on improving the customer experience and contract public and private operators to deliver customer-focused transport services on our behalf.
We also lead the procurement of transport infrastructure and oversee delivery through project delivery offices and industry delivery partners.

The opportunity: Right now, we have an opportunity for a Traffic Manager to join the Warringah Freeway Upgrade (WFU) project. This exciting new project will provide the link between the future Northern Beaches Tunnel and the Western Harbour Tunnel. This iconic project will allow a motorist to travel on a single roadway from the Northern Beaches, through the Western Harbour Tunnel and into the WestConnex roadways system.
You will be involved in: the overall road user access of the WFU project in order to ensure that the WFU meets government, community and environmental expectations. Through a high level of cooperation and interaction with the Transport Management Centre and Sydney Coordination Office you will be facilitating effective traffic management outcomes, providing high level technical advice and reviewing of environmental reports and plans to guide road user access requirements. This will include integrating traffic management and incident management practices into the WFU Delay Management Strategy.
As the Subject Matter Expert you will support high level decision making by providing briefing to the Branch, Division, Contractors and Consultants in relation to the development program, planning strategies and project proposals. You will also actively contribute to strengthening the Branch’s leadership and influencing by providing effective advice to project staff on road user safety and access issues.
About you: As an experienced traffic management professional, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive knowledge and experience in road network assessment, implementation of traffic flow improvement programs and/or projects and issues associated with access and mobility on the road network.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade USS10 ($126,310.00 - $ 138,035.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
