Plant Mechanic - On Highway Trucks

WesTrac are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Heavy Duty Plant Mechanic - Road Transport to join the On Highway Trucks division working a 5/2 roster based in Kewdale. This role will report to the Workshop Supervisor and will carry out all repairs and inspections on various heavy mobile plant equipment.

The ideal person would be able to diagnose, identify parts requirements and troubleshoot the machines achieving the desired outcome and given deadline to specification. Good attention to detail who takes pride in their work and be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as unsupervised.

To be successful the following is required:

  • Heavy Duty Mechanical Trade Qualification
  • Minimum 2 years post trade experience on Heavy Duty Road Transport
  • Current WA Drivers Licence
  • Diagnose faults with Caterpillar equipment at all levels
  • Caterpillar and associated product knowledge including engine experience
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Dedicated commitment to Safety & QA
  • Able to work competently unsupervised
  • Dedicated to fulfilling internal and external customer requirements
  • Commitment to developing and maintaining a strong, dedicated safety culture
