Our Retail Finance and Insurance department located in Port Melbourne is currently seeking to appoint a Sales Development Manager on a permanent full time basis. This role will initially have a strong focus on Insurance and then develop into a holistic dealer account management role.

Reporting to the Sales Development Manager Southern, you will:

  • Be responsible for the Account Management of defined dealers within your designated territory
  • Work with the Regional Sales Managers to develop and drive the insurance strategy across the region to ensure consistency of sales methodology and performance improvement
  • To develop and build relationships with dealerships, providing a partner-to-partner value adding service to our dealer network
  • Contribute to the Finance and Insurance growth and achievement of budgets within the region
  • Work towards achieving Dealer Insurance retention and acquisition targets
  • To develop and monitor the training plans (together with Regional Sales Managers) for all regional field staff to help develop their understanding of Insurance products.
  • Conduct regular detailed reviews of sales activity and regional results
  • Work to appropriate call plans and call patterns in conjunction with Regional Sales Managers
  • Work with key accounts as agreed with the Regional Sales Manager to develop and maximise the performance of insurance sales
  • Support the TFS performance comparison/focus review program by supporting performance reviews within dealerships
  • Identify opportunities and deliver on acquisition strategies to grow the network support for the insurance program
  • Act as a SME, mentor and coach to Regional Sales staff for all Insurance products
  • Perform the required administrative duties for the defined dealers within your designated territory
  • Manage Business Manager conformity to the accreditation framework
  • Assist the Dealer Credit Manager where appropriate

To ensure your success in this role, ideally you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience within Account Management roles
  • Comprehensive understanding of the relevant insurance legislation and regulatory environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Motor Vehicle Insurance and the applicable repair industries (Desirable)
  • Demonstrated history of achievement within a Sales environment (Essential)
  • Presentation skills
  • Demonstrated facilitation & training experience and capability (Essential)
