The role

This is a role for a Technical Lead with awesome front end skills.

As a Tech Lead you are responsible for providing technical leadership to a growing a team of strong and agile developers to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of innovative products that are able to capture global markets. We are looking for someone with a sharp aptitude for the latest trends in the software engineering, passion for building products that are a pleasure to use, and fondness for guiding teams to success while fostering personal growth of every individual on the team.


What you will be doing

  • Work with your team to deliver high quality products on time

  • Provide processes and an environment that make it easy for the team to consistently deliver quality software, efficiently and on time, while still promoting creativity and innovation

  • Assist in identifying process and product weaknesses and possible refinements in an environment of continual evolution and improvement

  • Working on a varied , full stack tech stack

  • Keep up to date with technical trends, tools and methodologies, undertake research as required

  • Educate developers in industry best practices, technical trends, tool and methodologies

  • Supporting delivery teams through coaching, leadership and enablement of engineers within Iress

  • Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms for delivering the company’s solutions and product offerings.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices.

  • Communicate the technology strategy to others within Iress, including technology people and teams as well as other stakeholders.

  • Finding better ways of doing things


What you will need

  • Must be pro-active in identifying opportunities for improvement. Ability to relate effectively to all levels of business users and technology people

  • Excellent skills in Front End technologies is essential to this role

  • A combination of personality traits (smart, innovative, low ego, collaborative, honest, of high-integrity, intensity and passion). Someone who creates loyality and trust

  • Hands-on and entrepreneurial style

  • Solicits the involvement of others to build a sense of ownership. Must have confidence to act quickly and decisively when the market requires such agility

  • Expert knowledge of technical architecture, software engineering and infrastructure.

  • Previous experience in “devops” and continuous delivery

  • High degree of technical competency (strong engineering foundation) with a passion around execution and delivery. Technical aptitude to probe, assess and understand their technology environment

  • Developed architectures in multiple diverse domains and application stacks

  • Must be willing to get their hands dirty and create functional innovative product designs and experiences.
