Atlassian is continuing to hire with all interviewing and on-boarding done virtually due to COVID-19. Do you enjoy automating your Cloud Infrastructure management and find yourself intrigued about the challenges of doing it at scale? The Cloud Engineering team is Atlassian's Cloud Centre of Excellence. We’re searching for a Senior Engineer to join the team and help keep our cloud practices lean and mean.
A typical day in the job will see you maintaining and improving our tooling, on/off boarding AWS accounts, automating configuration management, security and compliance monitoring, and standards enforcement. Your passion for researching Cloud Services in depth will see engineering teams throughout the business seek your guidance on using them safely and at scale.
An ideal candidate is someone who is eager to learn new things, keeps on top of industry trends (particularly those related to cloud technologies) and loves to share their knowledge with others.
On your first day, you will have:
A deep understanding of Python, including frameworks such as Django and/or Flask
Experience with integrating services using REST interfaces or similar techniques
Significant experience with operating large scale services on AWS.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with a wide variety of people, from junior engineers to senior executives
Working in an Agile team
Experience leading large scale projects from start to finish
We would love you to have:
Proven ability to coach and mentor other specialists to grow their technical and troubleshooting skills.
JS (React Preferred) experience
Experience supporting other Cloud Providers (GCP, Azure)
Familiarity with Atlassian products (Jira, Bamboo, BitBucket)

Cloud Engineering was crafted to specialise in the design and application of proven methodology principles to Atlassian's hosted services and infrastructure. Currently 5 strong and from a variety of backgrounds, the team's mission is to thoroughly examine current and emerging cloud technologies and practices, with the purpose of optimising their use at Atlassian.
