Xero is a beautiful, easy-to-use platform that helps small businesses and their accounting and bookkeeping advisors grow and thrive.
At Xero, our purpose is to make life better for people in small business, their advisors, and communities around the world. This purpose sits at the centre of everything we do. We support our people to do the best work of their lives so that they can help small businesses succeed through better tools, information and connections. Because when they succeed they make a difference, and when millions of small businesses are making a difference, the world is a more beautiful place.
Xero's 'Business Products' offers several products that support small businesses. We are adding new teams to this area in Auckland, to help small business owners build better workplaces by freeing up time to focus on their people, not processes and paperwork. We will do this by bringing together a suite of tools to provide a seamless and personalised experience for the employer and their employees. This is a bold new program of work that has significant business support and visibility.
What you'll be doing
You'll be using your considerable mobile experience to take a senior role on our newest mobile offering. You’ll be excited, not only for the opportunities that greenfield mobile development has to offer, but also for shaping the mobile practice that will need to exist alongside it. You’ll work closely alongside Product and Design to ensure that you are aligning engineering initiatives with customer needs and outcomes.
Working in a high trust environment, you’ll draw upon your experience with modern mobile application design & development practices to help your highly talented and passionate team be set up for success, and then deliver on it. You will collaborate, code, mentor and help set the technical direction for Android applications aimed at helping small businesses and bookkeepers.
While you have extensive experience in Android tech, you will also be focused on outcomes that unify and bring together engineers across both platforms.

- Excellent skills in Kotlin
- Natural instinct to share knowledge, coach, and mentor team members
- Experience delivering software in a modern agile-like environment
