About the role

The Major Subcontract Manager has commercial accountability for management of NSM’s Material Subcontracts, including but not limited to Contract Management and Contract Administration.

About you
  • Account Manage NSM Material Subcontracts
  • Monitor the performance of the Material Subcontracts and where necessary escalate issues and/or take corrective action

  • Ensure relevant Material Subcontract specific insurances and performance guarantees are in place

  • Manage Material Subcontractor insurances and warranty claims

  • Provide advice to the program team in relation to Material Subcontract rights and obligations;

  • Provide advice to the program team in relation to Material Subcontract owned Intellectual Property (IP) and how this flow through the head contract and impacts other Subcontracts

  • Monitor and maintain the Material Subcontractor risks

  • Compile, submit and negotiate Contract Change Proposals (CCP’s)

  • Report on status of Material Subcontract Deliverables, Milestones, CCP ‘s and Survey and Quote (S&Q)

  • Lead the Material Subcontract reporting
  • Lead Material Subcontract S&Q development, estimation, approval and performance

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related commercial field or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial Management, Contract Management and Contract Administration roles;

  • Experience in a procurement capacity

  • Experience of Government contracts

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance

  • MUST be an Australian Citizen
  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence

  • Experience in Alliance and Joint Ventures
  • Experience in Maintenance and or Asset Management Contracts

  • Prior experience in Defence sector, specifically ASDEFCON contracting

  • Experience in SAP
