Cartology is a new media business within the Woolworths Group (‘Group’). We have been formed to help suppliers obtain better access to the Group’s various media channels via a single point of contact. With a suite of both well established and existing new media channels at our disposal, combined with genuine market leading ROI analysis capabilities, we are set to make a significant impact on the Australian Media landscape over the next 2 years.

You will be joining a small dedicated finance team of innovative high-performers who rely on collaboration and adaptability within a continuously evolving environment to achieve market leading outcomes.

We are based in the Sydney CBD, with some travel required to Surry Hills (WooliesX office) and the Ggroup’s head office in Bella Vista.

About the role

This is a unique opportunity to further your analytical skills within a high growth media business that has access to best in class media assets and market leading performance analysis. This is a varied role where no two days are the same.

As Pricing & Performance Analyst, you are responsible for supporting the Senior Manager - Business Performance to ensure Cartology capitalises on the broad and diverse data resources available to it to drive profitable growth of the business.

You will be responsible for: 1) evaluating product and portfolio profitability; 2) managing inventory & pricing controls; and 3) maximising performance (yield, inventory utilisation, revenue/profit mix) against multiple sales & distribution channels.

Day-to-day responsibilities include (and are not limited to), you are responsible for maintenance of rate cards, prioritising & packaging of available inventory, performance management - measurement, reporting, forecasting & analysis - as well as driving continuous improvements (e.g., pricing capability, data management). This role also supports commercial analysis / business case of product packaging/bundling strategies and new revenue streams.

About You

The right candidate will demonstrate the analytical and strategic capability to develop pricing and inventory control models/mechanisms from scratch, drive operational efficiencies and unlock new revenue opportunities. You have at least 5 years of technical pricing experience (including exposure to B2B pricing and revenue management practices) gained from industries like media & advertising (traditional & digital), aviation, travel & hospitality, insurance and/or telecommunications.

You are comfortable working with ambiguity and can turn an ever-evolving environment in your favour to achieve results. Desire to succeed, willingness to roll up your sleeves to drive things forward, being a curious learner and having an confidence & agile mindset are paramount. You are able to partner with the business and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • BA/BS degree required, preferably in Actuarial Studies, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or similar.
  • Experience with development and implementation of price architecture, working on project teams to deliver end-to-end pricing solutions.
  • Strong analytical, and data story-telling skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and possess strong technical, financial modelling skills.
  • Willingness to learn new systems/processes like BI tools (e.g., Tableau), database tools (e.g., SQL) and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively in defining and delivering against individual projects as well as contribute and take accountability on team-based projects.
  • Salesforce experience is desirable.
