About the role

We're looking for Manager HME Engineering to deliver world-class heavy mobile equipment (HME) asset management and engineering services (AMES) across our integrated portfolio of iron ore assets.

You will be responsible for ensuring success across the following areas:

  • Engineering; partnering with our HME original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to collaboratively come up with engineering solutions for immediate problems (or short term fixes) as well as long term strategic improvements. This involves working closely with our HME tyre manufacturers, fuel suppliers and lubricant suppliers. You and your team will also work closely with each of the iron ore sites to assist in problem solving and troubleshooting HME related performance issues from an engineering perspective.

  • Long term planning; deploying the plans and strategies for HME across our iron ore sites. This includes maintenance plans based on strategies and tactics developed in conjunction with the engineering team, with site involvement as required.

  • HME fleet; working with our mine technical services colleagues to understand the upcoming HME hours required at each of our iron ore sites. This equipment requirement translates to an equipment plan where we can identify whether HME be moved between sites or whether there is a requirement to purchase additional HME.

  • Annual review of the long term fleet planning strategy

The stakeholder group is large and you should feel comfortable in engaging with a wide and diverse internal and external stakeholder group. Internally, you'll be liaising with general managers, mining and mobile equipment managers across our iron ore sites, regional AMES managers, mine technical services colleagues as well as functional areas of the business including supply chain, finance, commercial and sustaining capital delivery teams. The challenge that comes with managing such a significant stakeholder group, the geographical landscape of our operations and the scale of our HME fleet cannot be underestimated. There are also plenty of opportunities for you to make a difference in this role and you'll be supported by your leader to bring a deep curiosity to you work in identifying and delivering tangible business improvement.
