Do you want to help shape the future of Australia? We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Manager, SEO Risk Management to join nbn on the journey of reshaping Australia’s digital landscape.

Reporting to the General Manager SEO Shared Services, the Executive Manager, SEO Risk Management will be responsible for building a mature risk culture across the Systems Engineering and Operations (SEO) business to ensure that risks are managed effectively across business processes. This role will accomplish this by leading a Line 1 risk team, that is accountable for advising SEO on the ongoing improvement of the risk and control environment across the nbn SEO function.

The Executive Manager, SEO Risk Management, will have significant stakeholder management responsibilities and will lead discussions with senior management and key internal and external stakeholders. The opportunity requires an experienced risk management professional who has a proven record in team leadership, stakeholder management, and solutions-driven thinking.

A bit about your role

As the Executive Manager SEO Risk Management, you will be responsible for delivering:

  • Embedding and maintaining the Risk Management Methodology including alignment to the nbn Corporate Risk Management methodology.
  • Assisting and advising senior management to identify risk exposure and provide guidance in managing these risks.
  • Facilitating, providing oversight, and challenging risk management activities within the business.
  • Establishing and leading robust and regular risk reporting mechanisms.
  • Leading initiatives that promote a proactive risk management culture and capabilities within SEO.
  • Leading and developing the Risk team for career and performance management as well as ensuring appropriate support resource/training is provided for risk management activities across SEO.

A bit about you

The successful candidate will likely possess a tertiary qualification in IT or related field and a be able to display a significant track record working in large, enterprise risk environments with Line 1 IT risk, displaying an understanding of corporate and IT risk management methodology. You will also hold an understanding of risks associated with IT infrastructure and networks, IT resilience and recovery, public cloud computing, supplier risk management and IT service management processes.

Furthermore, given the senior stakeholder management responsibilities of the role, you will demonstrate a collaborative approach, effectively building relationships with various internal and external stakeholders whilst also having the confidence to challenge in a constructive manner when required.
