About the role\:

The Quality Assurance Advisor - Paint and Coatings will provide technical advice to production teams and Repair Agents (RA) regarding coating and preservation tasks across all assigned projects. The position will be a focal point andin-house Subject Matter Expert (SME) for preservation and coating systems.They shall foster good relationships with all associated client Representatives and RA’s to ensure that open and honest dialogue is maintained, all standards are met, and correct documentation is completed and submitted.

  • Undertake any required safety training and remain current with best practice
  • Act as the technical point of contact and in-house SME for preservation and coating systems
  • Act as the independent NACE certified inspector to support Inspection and Test Point (ITP) witness and hold point requirements
  • Review and authorise ITPs for coating and preservation tasks prior to work commencing to ensure compliance with legislative, work instruction and contractual requirements
  • Review of Task Progress and Completion Certificates (TPCCs), Objective Quality Evidence to ensure compliance with work instruction and contractual requirements
  • Review Problem Identification Reports (PIRs) raised in relation to preservation and coatings and monitor response progress to ensure consistent approach is applied across the program
  • Conduct Quality Assurance inspections or investigations as directed by the Senior QA Advisor
  • Ensure testing and verification activities are planned and implemented to verify conformance to required specifications

About you\:

Essential\:

  • Level 3 NACE Inspector qualification
  • Extensive experience in Defence or marine environment coating systems
  • Extensive (5 years) experience in defence or marine coatings systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel

Desirable\:

  • Formal qualifications in Quality and/or 5 years’ experience in Quality in a similar industry
  • Knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 9001\:2008 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001 -
  • Environmental Management Systems, AS 4801 - Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems and AS/NZS 31000\:2009 Risk Management
  • Knowledge of Legislative requirements (Environment and Workplace Health & Safety
  • Working at Heights training and certification/licences
  • Confined Space Entry training and certification/licences
  • Lead/Internal auditor qualifications

Essential Compliance Requirements

  • Must have or have the ability to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance
  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence
  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • MUST be an Australian Citizen
