Asphalt Production Supervisor

Boral Asphalt have a unique opportunity for a skilled Asphalt professional which will see you fulfilling the role of an Asphalt Batcher Operator when based at our Fixed and Mobile Asphalt Plants in Welshpool and, for our various regional projects, step up to Asphalt Production Supervisor for Mobile Plants.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Operations Manager, this opportunity will suit an experienced Leader who operates with a safety first approach in all that you do. You will drive successful outcomes and be responsible for leading teams, contractors and service providers in all areas of production, allocation & dispatch of asphalt products and monitoring & conducting routine maintenance of the mobile asphalt production plant and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Batcher operations

  • Responsible for OHS at the site/operation/facilities and equipment to ensure a safe working environment

  • Ensure the effective running of the Mobile asphalt plant covering people and process

  • Effectively maintain and schedule maintenance with routine inspections for the Mobile Asphalt plant

  • Mobilisation of the Mobile Asphalt plant in remote locations and supervision of all activities to deliver the project requirements

  • Process all necessary paperwork and production reports as required

  • Maintain stocks of raw materials as required and perform accurate stock takes

  • Manage and monitor all Mobile plant costs, budgeting and financials as required

About You

  • Strong safety focus and ability to lead by example

  • Well-developed knowledge of workplace safety and the environment

  • Experienced Leader with fixed plant operation (particularly asphalt, production plants) and knowledge of working with hot materials, trade qualifications and FEL ticket or equivalent will be highly regarded

  • Mechanical aptitude – A trade background would be highly regarded

  • Ability to work to production and maintenance deadlines

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong communication ability at all levels

  • Commitment to rotating shift work and travel in metro and regional locations
