We have an exciting opportunity for a Legal Counsel to join our high performing Legal team in the Retirement Living business based at our One Melbourne Quarter Office in Docklands. This is a maternity leave cover position for a minimum of 12 months.
In this role, you will be providing legal support to retirement villages across Victoria, advising on retirement villages legislation and resident contracts, property, construction, procurement, planning, consumer law, corporate law, strategic initiatives, disputes resolution and supporting a conveyancing team.
You will have a "hands on" role performing in-house legal functions in the day-to-day operations of the business and will champion our customer-centric approach to all that we do, whether through direct interactions with our customers or through supporting our experienced business teams.
We are looking for a lawyer with at least 5 years PQE in-house or in a mid- to top-tier private practice with experience in property law. Experience in the retirement living industry would be viewed favourably but is not essential. You will be a confident and articulate individual who can independently assist the business with the provision of legal advice in a busy and stimulating environment. You will be a team player, highly motivated with a high attention to detail and able to take initiative.
