Senior Legal Counsel

Job Type:Full Time

We are currently seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Sydney based in-house legal team within the Lendlease Building business. In this busy and rewarding role you will be a key source of knowledge to the business providing strategic and commercially astute legal advice and represent the business externally to government and private clients, subcontractors and consultants.

We push boundaries to create iconic places that are innovative, sustainable and commercially viable. Our Building business is renowned for market-leading project management, design and construction services.

When it's important we deliver. Some projects simply demand it. A focus, a new idea, a finish date, a cost imperative, a level of safety, a way of working, a strategic partner. Or a complete re-think.

With a strong pipeline of projects, you will be heavily involved in the conversion and contractual formation of these complex projects and their operation / delivery. Reporting to the Head of Legal, you will partner with internal and external stakeholders, including the Building Executive Management Team, to provide proactive, strategic and quality legal advice on across the full lifecycle of a project - from project inception, tendering, conversion, project mobilisation and delivery (including support with issue / dispute management).

A tertiary education in law and extensive post-qualification legal experience including exposure to a variety of major projects within the construction sector will be essential. You will ideally have worked for a well-respected firm or top tier construction group. Experience in construction and relevant ancillary legal areas including construction, litigation and insolvency will be preferred.
