About the Role:
The materials master data specialist will be responsible for maintaining material master information, collecting, validating and approving additional material master information in the SQL database while working simultaneously in SAP. As the specialist you'll have a holistic understanding of item life cycles, material master data in SAP, maintaining master data & working with the Perth based team as well as offshore teams. In addition to undertaking the day to day duties you'll be the focal point for offshore teams & will be a key contact in leading & coaching them in ensuring data integrity.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As the successful materials master data specialist, you will join a busy team ensuring master data accuracy using SAP, working closely with offshore teams as well as finance, engineering, contracts & procurement in the creating and maintenance of master materials. Furthermore, you will be responsible for reviewing requests for new materials and changes to existing materials before creating a material master data record. You will ensure best practices are followed for compliance and driving process improvement while actively managing material master and data governance activities such as daily maintenance requests as well as data clean-up efforts. As this role will require some work with offshore & international teams there will be some offshore & international travel required so an openness to this would be highly regarded.
Skills & Experience:
The successful candidate will have experience in cataloguing or master data ideally within an Oil & Gas, Mining or Utilities capacity & will be working with several key stakeholders as such they will posses great communication skills & will have an adept ability to translate difficult technical processes into an easy to understand format.

In addition to great communication skills, being technical adept in SAP & SQL will be highly regarded as well as the ability to work on several priorities at once while working well under pressure. Experience managing offshore teams would also be highly beneficial as this role will involve training & working with numerous offshore & international teams to ensure business objectives are met effectively. In addition to relevant industry experience & SAP experience, the ideal candidate will of course also have experience working in logistics or materials management.
