About the Project
Larrakeyah Barracks is a strategically important Defence base servicing the Royal Australian Navy, Army and Joint Task Force units in the Darwin Area. Laing O’Rourke is delivering both the Larrakeyah Barracks Redevelopment and Facilities Support to Naval Operations in the North projects as the managing contractor.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Commercial Manager to join us on the Larrakeyah Barracks project in central Darwin, NT. This permanent role offers great career prospects with a privately owned tier 1 constructor, and an international engineering enterprise. Note that this is a residential role therefor fly in, fly out will not be offered. Support with interstate relocation is available.
You will manage contractual disputes and risk mitigation, develop and mentor your commercial site team to ensure they deliver the commercial requirements of the project, ensure accurate and timely weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting of project costs, maintain registers and productivity on the project, whilst at all times adhering to Laing O'Rourke's safety policies & procedures
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Law, Quantity Surveying or Engineering, leadership skills, and ideally 10+ years’ experience on large-scale building or civil projects with top-tier contractors. Experience with Management Contractors Contracts (MCC’s) preferred.
