Here’s where you come in:

To support the growth of AustralianSuper we are seeking a Marketing Communications Writer who will be responsible for simplifying complex superannuation topics, and making them easier to understand and actionable for our target audiences. You will have the ability to take long-form content and repurpose it for various channels including, but not limited to, social media, PowerPoint presentations, email, infographics, video scripts, website copy and printed collateral.

In this role, you will:

  • create engaging, relevant and brand-focused content to get the audience to stop and pay attention to the brand and the benefits of playing an active part in their financial future;

  • take long-form content and adapt this for channel and audience. This may be for younger or older members, businesses, or across traditional and digital media channels – for example, web, social, email, content articles, print advertisements, graphics, collateral, video, presentations and sales tools;

  • gain input from a range of stakeholders and subject matter experts including, but not limited to, team members from Brand, Product, Investments, Compliance, Membership, Sales and Education;

  • simplify complex superannuation topics, making them easier to understand and engaging using existing frameworks including our fund messaging matrix and tone of voice;

  • work with our external creative agencies and Compliance, Brand, and Marketing and Communications teams to ensure assets are consistent for audiences across all touchpoints; and

  • work with our media agency and internal digital stakeholders to understand the role of channels and messaging within the sales funnel.

You’ll need:

  • extensive experience in communications, copywriting and/or journalism;

  • experience writing for the superannuation sector;

  • a well-developed ability to convert long-form content into channel and audience-appropriate executions;

  • to be RG146 Compliant (desired);

  • experience in developing explanatory diagrams, webinar content and long-form content (desired);

  • a well-developed ability to convert technical concepts into plain language;

  • the ability to develop succinct and compelling content for a variety of readers (eg. business, consumer/member and adviser);

  • the ability to manage multiple projects, pressing timelines and be at ease with some ambiguity;

  • the ability to build rapport quickly and manage multiple stakeholders;

  • experience writing for the web; and

  • a strong interest in best-practice communications.
