About the role
Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join the South Eastern Program Alliance team based in Richmond, VIC.
Laing O’Rourke, as part of the South East Program Alliance (SEPA), has been awarded the contract to remove the dangerous and congested level crossing at Toorak Road and deliver a new $89M rail bridge over the road, and is also working with LXRP, Metro Trains Melbourne (MTM) and Jacobs to develop and deliver value-for-money engineering solutions for multiple level crossing removals.
The Level Crossing Removal Project (LXRP) is a delivery entity created by the Victorian Government to remove 75 dangerous and congested level crossings across Victoria by 2025. It is one of the largest rail infrastructure projects in Victoria’s history.
Our current pipeline of works includes major station upgrades, track duplications and a range of other critical rail infrastructure works.
You will be joining one of Australia’s most advanced Digital teams with an ever-increasing focus on innovation and efficiency. Our industry-leading Digital Engineering team use the latest technologies and practical application of Digital Engineering to support our nation’s biggest and most challenging projects. We offer excellent training and development and the latest technologies.
Implement Digital Engineering on the project by applying appropriate influence, input, resource, process and protocols. Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, to deliver Digital strategies. Author and develop the 3D model, maintaining current knowledge of all project information and documentation. Mentor team members. Challenge current or outdated techniques and implement your own ideas and improvements. Apply cost modelling aspects of Digital Engineering. Utilise 4D and 5D principals to enable stakeholders to have visibility on progress / projected progress.
Ideally, 5+ years of experience in Digital Engineering, a relevant Engineering Degree or Associate Diploma, and experience in Digital Engineering on large-scale building or infrastructure projects is preferred.
