About the role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic mining engineer for the role of Specialist Mine Scheduling working on site at our Blackwater Mine in the Bowen Basin.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Scheduling, you will use your strong technical skills and experience to work with a team of engineers to produce designs and schedules that will enable operations to deliver superior performance. You will be able to develop effective working relationships with key stakeholders to deliver continual value through the mine planning process.

In this role you will:
  • Prepare and execute mine designs;
  • Produce and maintain a rolling 16 week schedule;
  • Maintain compliance to plan;
  • Complete strip reconciliations to improve the mine plan;
  • Facilitate and actively participate in meetings;
  • Work with functions to deliver concepts that deliver value; and
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
The role will be offered on an 8 days on 6 days days only with flexible and unique residential options.

About You

As the successful candidate, you will have a tertiary education in mining engineering or equivalent. You will have a minimum of 3 years working as a mining engineer and demonstrate a high level of safety culture.

A strong working knowledge of the following software packages is essential:
  • Vulcan
  • Deswik
  • 3D Dig
  • XACT Scheduling
  • Spry
  • Microsoft Office Suite
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must; this will allow you to build relationships across departments and to communicate with various disciplines at all levels.
