About the role

The Power Engineer is responsible for delivering key site power supply projects to the required outputs within specified time, quality and cost constraints. This role is a great opportunity for a self-motivated experienced engineer with a strong power background who is ready to take the next step in their career and assist in guiding the future direction of our Power Supply Team.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor- Energy and Power Supply and working a Monday to Friday roster you will be required to:

  • to provide technical advice to site on electrical engineering matters;
  • be the subject matter expert for all High Voltage systems, inclusive of assets, protection systems and operations;
  • be the custodian of Site Fault and Arc Flash Calculations;
  • maintain the consistent application of standards, systems and adherence to relevant regulations;
  • ensure that operations are performed in a safe, efficient manner;
  • participate in safety systems, including identifying and implementing improvement initiatives.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A degree in electrical power engineering
  • Previous experience in a similar role in an industrial environment
  • Practical working experience in:
    • Power System Protection
    • Arc Flash Modelling
    • Power Software (e.g. Easy POWER)
    • Project Implementation
    • HV Reticulation from 220kV
    • DC Rectification
  • Training or exposure to Lean principles
