The Equities Research group at J.P. Morgan is a world leader in providing investors with detailed financial analysis and recommendations on whether to buy, hold, or sell a particular investment. Equities Research supports the Banks’ investment banking and sales & trading teams by facilitating equities transactions (buy/sell).

Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:

We are looking to hire a top performing Executive Assistant within the Sydney Equities Research team to fill a 12 month maternity leave assignment.

Supporting a number of Equities Research team executives, this role will suit a career Executive Assistant who is happy, capable and experienced in working as part of a team, where flexibility and teamwork is paramount. Someone who is able to professionally manage a multitude of responsibilities, people and timeframes, whilst being adept with many systems, policies and procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The role reports into the Business Support Manager. Applicants must be a reliable committed team player demonstrating a motivated and flexible ‘can-do’ attitude, with a high level of confidentiality and problem solving skills. Being able to read your audience and adapt accordingly is key to this role’s success.
A minimum of 5 years’ previous experience working in an Investment Bank or other professional services environment is preferred.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Diary management over different time zones

  • Comprehensive travel management for both domestic and international trips

  • Client liaison

  • Ownership of expense administration for the team

  • Information Management pertaining to documentation and team training hours

  • The ability to work with a range of personalities

  • Arranging room bookings, catering and video conferencing facilities as required

  • Answering telephones and taking ownership of all calls

  • Maintain effective and professional relationships with Senior Management, Executive Assistants, clients and visitors

  • Organising client and ad hoc lunches or events

  • Assist with new starter logistics / meet and greet

  • Provide cover for other EA when on leave

  • Assist team with IT issues / requirements – escalations

  • Other adhoc duties as they arise

Computer Software Packages/Skills:

  • MS Outlook - Advanced

  • MS Word - Intermediate

  • MS PowerPoint - Intermediate

  • MS Excel - Intermediate

  • Concur – Expense Management system

  • Typing speed – min 70 wpm

Education/ professional qualifications:

  • Business / Secretarial College diploma or equivalent is preferred
