We're looking for an experienced UX Designer to join our team in Sydney. As a Senior UX Designer at Arq, you will lead our design engagements across the different stages of product lifecycle and also mentor and help grow designers. This role provides the opportunity to showcase your passion for user centered design methods and put to practice the right design thinking techniques for the optimal experience outcome for the business and users.

Your responsibilities

  • Lead design engagements for ongoing and new client projects
  • Evangelise the importance of user research, user centered design, design thinking methods and usability
  • Contribute to planning and scheduling of design sprints and design delivery
  • Execute to the design strategy while ensuring high quality of UX services
  • Drive collaborative approach with interfacing teams such as engineering, product, delivery, and client teams
  • Contribute to thought leadership internally and externally
  • Collaborate with Pursuits team to help conceptualise design recommendations
  • Assisting in capability uplift and team management by introducing new evolving existing UX methods in the team

We want you onboard if you have

  • Successfully shipped digital experiences (apps, web, portals, wearables, voice)
  • Significant and specialist knowledge of communicating design, including the rationale behind the experience options
  • Hands on experience in primary user research methods
  • Validated a range of design decisions with end users
  • Worked on large multi-platform projects with a significant number of stakeholders and other dependant 3rd party vendors
  • UX consulting and advisory experience
  • Planned and facilitated product sprints / workshops
  • Mentored / supported other designers in the team
  • Been seen as a ‘go-to’ person to resolve complex and specific problems on projects
  • 4 years+ of professional UX Design experience in agile environments

It will be a plus if you have

  • A design, HCI, computer science or psychology related degree
  • Industry recognition for your design work
  • Design community involvement
  • Secondary research skills to support product and design strategy
  • Exposure to related design skills such as service design, design systems, behavioural research and/or journey analytics
