About the role

This role will be responsible for ensuring heavy mobile equipment performance outcomes are achieved for the respective fleet. The role will play a key role in leading defect elimination process to continue to improve equipment performance on key metrics such as availability, reliability, costs and asset health.

Reporting to the Superintendent Maintenance, the Specialist Reliability will be based residential at Peak Downs mine and work a 5:2 roster.
In this role you will:

  • Assist the Superintendent Reliability to analyse current processes and identify improvement opportunities at an operational level;
  • Develop, maintain and implement site wide process improvement strategies, ensuring compliance to process;
  • Drive reliability, asset strength and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the site Leadership Team to ensure departmental metrics are being adhered to;
  • Continue to identify, facilitate and deliver ongoing productivity improvements and cost reduction initiatives to ensure our right to operate as a low cost producer.
  • Enable and drive the embedment and sustainability of the BHP Operating System while playing a key role in transformation activities and design.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with and the continual improvement of the Mine Operating Systems and Safety Health Management Systems; and
  • Ensure alignment and continuity of site based improvement discipline and process. Continue to monitor and maintain high standard of quality within the department
  • Assist to develop and embed a culture of financial based decisions that guide the department to achieve key site targets
  • You will work with diverse set of stakeholders including site, engineering, OEMs and Maintenance and Engineering Center of Excellence

About You

We are seeking applicants that have in depth, practical experience in mobile mining equipment including but not limited to trucks, dozers, loaders, graders, drills and excavators. An Engineering degree (mechanical or electrical) or trade qualification is essential, as well as extensive experience in a continuous improvement position and six sigma and lean qualifications. Your technical background, with demonstrated experience in effective data analysis and reporting will allow you to work within a highly professional technical team.

You will possess excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management capabilities, and also the ability to work autonomously. It is essential that you are a team player who promotes and supports workplace diversity. You will have a focus on continuous improvement and be passionate about delivering extraordinary results.
