Job Description

This role will establish engineering standards platform designs for facilities, utilities and equipment. This includes the implementation of process and tools for the following areas: architecture & design, construction management, construction safety, construction quality, commissioning & qualification and project management & controls. The role will deliver documentation and knowledge management and training/education to accompany the tools to ensure consistent application. The role will also chair Engineering Council, host Engineering Show Cases and sponsor Engineering Center of Excellence and will represent CSL into external forums.

Role is responsible to:

  • Develop a global strategy for engineering standards to ensure that they are adhered to by staff and contractors
  • Continuously improve and maintain an effective knowledge management system for the engineering process
  • Understand global and local requirements for contract management and stay updated on latest policy changes to ensure compliance
  • Ensure proper documentation is being completed at all stages of the engineering process
  • Optimize the time to conceptualize, engineer, specify, design, commission, and qualify engineering solutions
  • Lead design strategy and deployment for major capital projects and programs
  • Chairs Engineering Council and Sponsors CoE and Community of Practices for Engineering
  • Work with Quality assurance on process control, design, and performance tests
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing and Engineering to ensure adherence to the standardized project engineering process
  • Engage with external supply representatives on an as needed basis

Role is responsible to:

  • Collaborate with representatives across the global Engineering organization to continuously improve and optimize the application and adherence to engineering standards

    Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, biology or related field required MBA (or equivalent experience required), advanced degree preferred and/or an MBA with at least 15 years of engineering or supply chain experience in a biotech/pharmaceutical environment

Experience

  • Substantial prior experience in the development and implementation of engineering standards and development of tools, processes and methodologies
