About the role

Reporting to the Superintendent Mine Development Contracts this position is responsible for administering and managing the mine development and production contracts.

In this role you will:
  • First and foremost, focus on creating a culture of care and be a visible safety leader through engaging, developing and coaching the contract teams.
  • Development of contract scope of works participate in tender negotiations, evaluations and recommendations to award contracts
  • Contracts administration i.e. processing monthly claims, monthly purchase orders and accruals
  • 1SAP work flow management for contracts
  • Ensure compliance to the Contract Management Framework
  • Track contractor performance in relation to safety, production, diversity, innovation and finance
  • Conduct audits to ensure that the contract partner systems are effectively implemented
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the Contract Partners in order to achieve business objectives

This position is initially a 12 month fixed term contract based at Olympic Dam and is offered on a 5/2 residential or 5/2/4/3 FIFO (ex-Adelaide) basis.

About You

  • Demonstrate the confidence to lead by example, hold yourself and others accountable and coach others in ‘Safety Leadership’
  • Confident communicator who can effectively engage and drive performance with our Contract Partners
  • Have a high level of attention to detail and strong administrative skills to enable accurate review of claims and effective management of contracts
  • Underground metalliferous mining experience is essential
  • Mining Engineering or similar tertiary qualifications are required
  • Underground mining supervisory experience is advantageous, but not essential. While this is a Supervisor position it has no BHP direct reports due to the contractor arrangements.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills required
  • Experience with 1SAP will be highly regarded
