An opportunity has become available for a seasoned Senior Developer Engineer within the Billing agile delivery team based in Melbourne.
A bit about your role
The role will require Oracle BRM technical expertise, telco billing domain knowledge and deep expertise in engineering practises to design, code, test and document complex software system changes following agreed standards and tools.
With an ultimate aim to provide significant value to the Billing business, you will also provide strong mentorship and guidance to more junior members within the team, contributing to a high performance culture and ensuring that agile software engineering practises are adopted and continuously evolved and that software changes are delivered with a high degree of quality and efficiency.
Some other key accountabilities would include:
- Defining and managing scoping, requirements definition and prioritisation activities for small-scale changes within the Oracle BRM platform based on user stories provided to the delivery team
- Prioritising requirements and documents traceability to source.
- Reviewing requirements for errors and omissions.
- Accepting responsibility for creation of test cases using own in-depth technical analysis of both functional and non-functional specifications (such as reliability, efficiency, usability, maintainability and portability).
- Collaborating with others while assuring QA function of the designs and coding
- Taking technical responsibility across all stages and iterations of software development. Plans and drives software construction activities.
A bit about you
The ideal person for this role is someone who can provide leadership, guidance and mentoring alongside technical delivery and QA functions.
You would have years of demonstrated experience and knowledge working as an Oracle Billing Revenue Management (BRM) developer with the ability to investigate, define and resolve complex issues in a Telco/Wholesale Billing environment.
You will possess a thorough understanding of recognised software implementation methods and practices, and be able to adopt and adapt to new and developing practices in the field.
Your outstanding communication skills will be put to good use in this role bridging the knowledge and communications gap between the business areas. You will earn respect from your colleagues through your collaborative attitude, open mindset, big picture perspective, technical proficiency and commitment to getting the job done with the team.
Having programming skills in C and/or Java, experience in source code and automated deployment - CI/CD tools and methodology - Git, Jenkins are essential, . Having previous experience working in an agile delivery environment would also be valuable to your success.
