Project Controller

Our Melbourne team is seeking a person with at least 2 years of experience or relevant tertiary qualification in project controls for a role that combines project controls and administration to support a key Melbourne project.

As the newest member of our team you will need an eye for detail and be able to follow procedures, requirements and rules while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information. Operating as part of the wider project team you will use a high level of initiative and ability to organise and prioritise tasks with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of internal customer service.

Your role will include:

Project Controls
* Support the project control functions on a range of projects, with varying levels of complexity
* Understand the importance of scope, cost and schedule change control
* Prepare project reports including progress, financial and resource information, including actual costs, earned value and forecasts
* Ensuring all cost, schedule and risk project reporting and activities comply with company and client needs
* Update cost control systems to reflect budgets, actual and forecast costs
* Quality control of timesheet management for all staff/contractors on the project and liaising with project management to ensure that timesheets are accurate and addressing any issues as they arise
* Review sub-consultant invoices and costs for appropriateness and recommend for payment
* Collate, compile and issue project status information for weekly and monthly reporting
* Maintain relationships with subcontractors and others on project control related activities

Project Administration
* Prepare necessary paperwork or e-forms for project set up and ongoing project management including Quality, Environmental and Safety
* Undertaking advanced word processing duties for project submissions, reports, correspondence and presentations
* Preparing meetings and taking minutes where necessary
* Maintain project filing systems
* Assist with internal CV administration
* Assist with the development of Capability Statements, Project Highlight sheets etc, and updating databases including Client Relationship Management database

You will have:

* Experience, and or a relevant tertiary qualification, in Project Controls and Project administration, including systems and process management
* High level of proficiency in MS Excel is mandatory
* Experience in using Microsoft Office Skills - Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Great writing skills with a high degree of accuracy
* Great as part of a team and good communication skills with a proactive nature in regard to identifying and solving problems
* Proven experience in working to tight deadlines
* Desirable will be experience in using P6 Primavera software
