What you will be delivering

In this newly created role within the Digital Services group, you will lead, manage and evolve the DevOps practices, principles, services, standards, community and policies and ensure the accelerated establishment of a DevOps culture & capabilities across the Enterprise.

The role holder will work directly with teams across the business to assess and uplift skills and support the embedding of new DevOps practices through embedding certified DevOps engineers within projects and operational teams.

Some accountabilities include:

  • Primarily responsible for the implementation of DevOps policies, processes, services, assets and development materials to projects and operational teams.
  • Through creation and delivery of the practice plan, develop the people, process and technology capabilities required to foster an active community of practice, as well as delivering high quality, cost effective DevOps services to the organization.
  • Management and development of continuous integration and deployment solutions for production applications across various sites/software.
  • Accountable for the creation of software deployment strategies that allow DevOps engineers to successfully deploy sites/software in any environment.

What we like about you

This is an important role for our team. We will, therefore, expect you to be a credible, senior technologist with a hands-on background and experience of implementing or leading engineering / DevOps transformations e.g.: high frequency (daily / weekly) release cycles, understanding of CICD toolchains, advanced testing approaches (chaos engineering), infrastructure as code provisioning techniques, etc. You will also be a proven technology senior leader, with experience of the ongoing people and business development for large/complex technical organisations delivering both run and change capabilities. A degree qualification in Business or Technology discipline mandatory with post graduate qualification highly desirable.
