This is a great opportunity to join the Satellite Operations team and support nbn satellite network and customers from both service activation and service support perspectives.
A bit about the role
As a Technical Specialist, you will interact with other nbn internal business units, service partners and vendors providing a range of services including Network Management, Network assurance and fulfilment and provision of regular intelligence reports on all aspects affecting the performance of satellite service.
You will be accountable for the technical leadership and governance for the health and wellbeing of the Satellite network. You will be the primary interface into the Network Engineering and Strategy team, as well as provide technical leadership and governance into Ericsson to resolve complex service affecting incidents within defined service level targets.
The role will see you:
- Identify and callout network issues that potentially put Satellite services at risk
- Raise and manage incident and problem tickets performing root cause analysis on Baseband incidents
- Align Managed Service Delivery and Supplier Partners, around a common purpose
- Manage and execute integration/regression testing campaigns and deploy First Time Application Release for any new software/firmware maintenance releases/updates for all baseband system equipment before full production deployment/rollout
- Develop test plans and test cases for any new software and firmware maintenance releases/updates for all baseband system equipment
A bit about you
To be successful in this role, you will bring forth strong experience in telecommunication in a highly technical domain.
You will possess wide range of knowledge and technical experience in configuration, support and maintenance of IT and network products. Ideally, we would like to see experience with Network Management Systems.
You will also have experience with virtualisation and databases such as VMWare, Oracle, MySQL and Postgres along with some knowledge and understanding of networking.
Your background will demonstrate experience supporting and providing complex incident and problem management.
