Public Infrastructure Leader

About the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced leader in the public infrastructure space who will be responsible for providing strategic direction and implementing the agreed strategic initiatives for the infrastructure sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Driving growth and development opportunities for the team and working in conjunction with the Head of Sector to drive sector growth
  • Ensuring strategies and other activities of the team are aligned to the national sector strategic plan
  • Developing and maintaining initiatives to market and promote the sector
  • Managing work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements and is performed within the bounds of the organisations policies and procedures
  • Coordinating resource sharing between other teams within the sector
  • Recruiting, managing, training and mentoring staff


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in the public infrastructure sector
  • A CPEng status is desirable but not essential
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience as engineer to the contract is desirable but not essential
  • Strong relationships in the public infrastructure sector
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and leadership ability
