The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Mine Geologist, based at our Mungari Gold Operation in Kalgoorlie, WA. You will be responsible for leading a safe, efficient and effective Mine Geology team in an open pit and underground operation.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise the use of and seek to continually improve geological processes to achieve and or exceed specified goals, cost and safety targets.
  • Ensure that the Geology team supports the Mining Department to optimise the extraction of the mineral resource and meet the mine plan.
  • Supervise the collection, storage and validation of geological data such as drilling data, geophysical data and surface mapping.
  • Prepare and maintain grade control and geological models in conjunction with the Senior Mine Resource Geologist.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely reconciliation of both surface and underground mining production and stockpiles on a monthly bias or as directed.
  • Plan and supervise effective grade control and resource development programs and ensure that quality control is maintained at the highest possible level.
  • Mentoring and supervision of Mine Geologists and Mine Technicians.
  • Generate or provide input into budgets, forecasts and schedules.

You will have:

  • Tertiary Qualification in Geology or Geosciences
  • Industry experience in mine geology and grade control practices
  • An advanced understanding of geological interpretation and current 3D modelling techniques, block modelling, QAQC protocols, grade control systems and reconciliation.
  • Near mine exploration experience around orogenic gold deposits.
  • Previous production exposure in OP and UG environments.
  • Leading and mentoring teams
  • Mine planning software packages eg Vulcan, Surpac
