About the opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Strategy and Assurance to join our new University Infrastructure team. Reporting directly to the Chief of University Infrastructure you will be responsible for the development of infrastructure responses for University strategic priorities, operational transformation initiatives and capital program. Such strategies and initiatives will include;
  • developing infrastructure response plans and initiatives in collaboration with the Chief University Infrastructure and UI Executive to support the University Strategy
  • providing strategic discussion papers on a broad range of issues for Executive review, inclusive of appropriate and relevant analysis, business strategy and sound recommendations
  • developing and implementing the target operating model and organisation structures for Compliance and Assurance, work, health and safety (WHS), program management office (PMO) and Commercial Management to assure that University Infrastructure is delivering its services as efficiently and effectively and in accordance with the Universitys policies and state and federal legislation.

  • extensive leadership and people management experience
  • an understanding of the University’s infrastructure, faculty stakeholders and strategic plans
  • experience providing executive leadership and guidance on governance and control framework
  • experience establishing and implementing an operating model and structures for compliance and assurance management and health and safety (WHS).


About us
University Infrastructure (UI) is responsible for partnering with its University clients to;

  • support the University and Faculty strategies, by being a well-recognised and leading client-focused property and infrastructure planning and delivery unit, which includes expertise in planning and design, property development, infrastructure delivery, space, and sustainability to enable the University to achieve its strategic and operational goals
  • by providing a focus on the infrastructure design, development and delivery, ensuring the University’s strategic objectives, design standards, sustainability targets and new ways of working are achieved to enhance teaching and research together with student, staff and community experience
  • define the Infrastructure Responses to the University and Faculty strategies
  • manage the space policy, space allocation issues, utilisation and reporting to governance committees for decisions on space as required to meet the needs of the University
  • proactively seek and manage property development opportunities in alignment with the University strategies
  • develop and manage the operational model of student accommodation.
