The opportunity

We are looking for a Manager within the Technology Risk team in our Melbourne office, who will focus on data analytics and digital risk advisory. This role is offered on a flexible full time basis.

Our data analytics team uses analytics to identify, quantify and predict risk across key organisational areas such as finance, supply chain and IT. We provide data-driven risk intelligence and bespoke solutions to our clients, through the analysis of transactional or operational data. We are experts in harnessing large amounts of data, to quantify control weaknesses and highlight where business failures are occurring.

Your key responsibilities
  • Developing scope of work and managing the delivery of analytics engagements

  • Delegating, supervising and supporting the development of team members

  • Designing, preparing and presenting the results of our analytics

  • Managing engagement economics
  • Developing and maintaining productive working relationships with clients

  • Implementing the company’s strategy around Risk Analytics

  • Supporting business development initiatives and proposals

  • Providing excellent customer service and coaching your project teams to ensure they do the same

  • Building strong relationships both internally and in the market, and becoming a trusted advisor to your clients

  • Assisting with business development activities

Skills and attributes for success

  • 5 years of hands-on data analytics, including\:

    • Intermediate SQL / data preparation (essential)

    • Reporting design and development experience using one or more tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, ThoughtSpot, Spotfire, etc

    • Additional programming in languages such as Python, R, C# etc

  • Proven background and track record of technical experience in data analysis and how this can be used to create value for a client

  • Strong analytical and business skills, which you can apply to designing data analytics to measure business performance, identify business risks and support decision making

  • Exceptional communication skills, which you use to explain your analysis approach and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders at various levels from junior to C-suite

  • Strong internal and external stakeholder management skills with the ability to credibly communicate, negotiate and influence strategic outcomes at C- level executives

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience in managing engagement economics, including but not limited to budgeting, billing and fee management

  • The ability to inspire teamwork and responsibility with diverse engagement team members, and use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services

Ideally, you’ll also have
  • Strong interest for data analysis, mathematics, statistics, modelling, or pattern recognition

  • Knowledge in data structures and algorithms for processing large volumes of data

  • Some knowledge of finance, accounting, and ERP systems, although this is not essential

  • An interest in generating new business opportunities
