Platform Systems Engineer (Defence)

As a Platform Systems Engineer you are responsible for providing highly specialised support to various Nova client projects encompassing maritime platforms. You will be a part of a highly valued capability with the ability to lead, or assist with, resolving client challenges, leveraging on your experience within maritime platforms. An immediate client need will have you providing platform systems engineering support to a fast-paced maritime acquisition program.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Development of the Function and Performance Specification, including facilitation of workshops with key stakeholders;
  • Appraising and reporting on feasibility studies by industry;
  • Assisting in the development of an ASDEFCON contract;
  • Review of contract deliverables;
  • Stakeholder management;
  • Mentoring junior staff;
  • Reporting to Project Manager and Principle Engineer regarding engineering risks and technical reviews.
Essential requirements:
  • Bachelor of Engineering (preferable);
  • AUST Citizen with an NV1 clearance preferred;
  • ASDEFCON experience desirable;
  • Experience in a Defence Maritime Project setting (preferred);
  • Experience with requirements development essential;
  • Experience with ship building programs desirable;
  • Experience/expertise in the area of platform survivability (i.e. shock, acoustic and magnetic signatures) is high desirable, but not essential;
  • Must be eligible to view US Export Controls technical data.
About you:
  • Australian Citizenship with a current or recently suspended AGSVA clearance (NV2 preferred, but will consider NV1);
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport with our clients;
  • Be a team player with a can-do attitude.
