Role: Release Lead

Role Purpose:
As a Release lead, you will support and incorporate best practices in asset and process Services Implementation, to enable squads to rapidly, reliably and efficiently develop, test and release high quality solutions for customers.
Your role will be to provide the following services to your squads and the Tribe at large:
  • SME and owner of the change and delivery process at client, and more specifically, for CUSTOMER AUTHENTICATION TRIBE
  • Approval and management of deployment activities into production, eg. code deployment, via representation to the CUSTOMER AUTHENTICATION TRIBE Change Forum
  • Establish the delivery of governance, transition and approval of artefacts and processes, to enable a release to progress as planned. And feed that into the CUSTOMER AUTHENTICATION TRIBE Change forum and production support
  • develop and implement a CUSTOMER AUTHENTICATION TRIBE release train, to enable a cadenced delivery regime for the tribe to use
  • co-ordination and execution of release activities in-squad and across squads and tribes
  • co-ordinate the completion of post-production verification activities
  • establish and co-ordinate tribe-external engagements, for the purposes of release delivery
  • work with Support teams in times of recovery of production and/or implementation issues
  • communicate release delivery plans to stakeholders
  • encourage common understanding of release planning and design skills, across the tribe, to enable others to play their role in managing change in a complex operating environment

What will be in your toolkit?
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Information Technology
  • Experience working in Agile environment, at scale
  • Dev-ops understanding (CI/CD Pipeline). Experience in common tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, GO CD, Build Kite, etc.
  • Able to write simple automation scripts in an interpreted language such as Bash, Ruby, Python, etc
  • Ability to Develop dashboards to quantify internal processes efficiency
  • Demonstrated competency to deliver Tribe/Squad outcomes from initiatives assigned to you. Via the application of tribe Governance, Transition and Approval processes
  • Exceptional stakeholder management experience
  • Ability to influence & negotiate via a variety of strategies, to build string stakeholder buy-in
  • An understanding of the release process and how it’s applied across squads/tribes
  • Able to understand technology principles and tools, to effectively provision and co-ordinate complex interdependencies as they are expressed in installations and implementations
  • Knowledge and experience with cross-platform/cross tribe integration testing
  • Ability to coordinate end to end delivery across multiple technology areas
  • Keen eye to identify dependencies and risks and come up with mitigations plans accordingly
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Tribe/Squad needs, and how these are delivered via the technology domain
  • Ability to inform Tribe/Squad prioritisation decisions while establishing and maintaining a high level of customer trust and confidence
  • Ability to improve on existing processes to allow for improved delivery by influencing squad engineering practices
  • Ability to develop and agree value for change initiatives and track value through execution
