Principal Structural Engineer (Bridges)

About the opportunity

A new opportunity exists for a Principal Bridge Engineer based in our Sydney office. Reporting to the Transport Structures – Section Leader, your immediate focus would be in the areas of technical leadership and high-quality project delivery across a range of infrastructure projects from small structural design tasks through to major highway and rail projects.

You will be expected to provide structural bridge design and management skills, leading and reviewing the work of others and adding capacity to the bridge team overall. You must be able to lead medium to large bridge and related structural infrastructure projects to an independency level commensurate with an executive level bridge engineer.

About you

The ideal candidate should have a relevant undergraduate degree as a minimum and a vast amount of experience in bridges and/or heavy civil structure design.

Additionally, you should possess\: -
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Experience in Project Management tools
  • Understanding of technical standards for design, construction and maintenance
  • Previous technical experience in discipline(s) relevant to design, including civil and bridges structures design.
  • Significant experience on large projects
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Mentoring and coaching design team members
  • Desire to achieve high quality outputs and deliver excellent service
