About the role:

Optus Business Global Products consists of a broad portfolio of products including Connect+ IP VPN, Connect+ E-LINE, Connect+ E-VPN, Connect+ ILC and LightLink. The product suite covers all stages of product lifecycle with some new and emerging products in the global market and a number of mature products.

You have direct product responsibility for the performance of the product set. As a Senior Product Manager you also provide product management guidance to the pre-sales, design and delivery teams, responsible for the quality of Global product processes, lifecycle management, product & marketing strategy and customer experience.

This role will have dual reporting, directly into SingTel GE for Global Product Management and into Global, NBN and Access for Global Product Marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and lifecycle of the following Global products,
    • Connect+ IP VPN
    • Connect+ E-LINE
    • Connect+ E-VPN
    • Connect+ ILC
    • LightLink
  • Working with product managers, market research groups, OB strategy groups, regulatory, OB networks and management to formulate and align strategies and plans.
  • Working internally with product managers to produce consistent, customer focussed collateral including product/solution brochures, campaign briefs, data sheets, user guides and service descriptions
  • Working with the Optus Business Pricing team for Global product pricing, monitoring market pricing trends, managing Global product pricing changes and overseeing Global product pricing and costing models.
  • Manage telecommunication Service Providers and facilities in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands who provide the access service in these locations
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly reporting for product financial and sales performance, understanding and monitoring key drivers of the Global market and OB performance, identifying initiatives to fill gaps and presenting monthly reports to senior management

Experience required

  • Significant senior level experience in business to business marketing and product management
  • Experience and understanding of fixed products, in particular Data & IP and Networking solutions
  • Experience in working in a large Telco/ICT organisation
  • Tertiary qualifications in marketing
  • Professional/technical skills
  • Strong commercial acumen, financial and operational judgement
  • Ability to determine, prioritise and articulate business requirements
  • Understanding of customer value principles and the ability to create customer and internal documentation to support
  • Strong experience in people management and leading a team of product managers
  • Experience in managing complex products and product development projects
  • Strong Financial analysis skills
  • High level of self-autonomy
  • Highly developed communication skills and experience in dealing with all levels of organization & management
  • Ability to manage and influence colleagues with strong engagement & negotiating skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, and ability to manage a complex environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong engagement and negotiating skills
  • Presentation skills for internal management and external customer presentations
