About the role:
Based in either Wellington, Melbourne or Auckland, this senior leadership role represents the intertwined disciplines of Design Research and Content Strategy within Xero’s wider design organisation at an executive level.

You will lead the evolution of product design processes and lead the integration of product design with product development and business strategy. Overseeing the Research practice and shaping strategic process improvements in terms of research delivery insight whilst leading Content which responds to complex UX requirements across the business will be key to your success in this role.

Responsible for building and developing your team to be the best they can be, you will work with other senior leaders across Xero to quickly understand their needs and priorities and will be confident to articulate your team’s value and expertise as specialised business partners.

At the Design leadership level you will work closely with other GMs and Directors to drive practices which ensure we’re building the right products correctly.

What we’re looking for:
  • Previous success in creating, launching, scaling and maintaining a digital product design research function
  • A deep understanding of the design and research process with the ability to define and improve your team’s design practices
  • Significant experience leading, scaling and managing multidisciplinary teams working with complex software
  • Confidence when communicating complex ideas effectively to large diverse groups
