Buildkite creates tools that keep software development teams happy and productive. We build cleanly designed, high quality tools with a focus on utility, scale, design, support, and open-source. We're lucky to work with some of the best engineering teams in the world, including Shopify, Airbnb, Basecamp, and more.
Who We Are
Buildkite is a privately owned, profitable company that focuses on healthy, sustainable growth. We keep work to work hours, support fitting work around personal commitments, and encourage work life balance. We're currently a team of eight, and work remotely from Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Vancouver.
Transparency - We default to working in the open, allowing everyone to understand context and contribute.
Quality - We think developers need high-quality tools to build amazing products.
Diversity - We believe mono-cultures are bad, and a diversity of experience and thought leads to better solutions.
Independence - We are majority owned by employees, and funded by our local developer community.
Empathy - We believe empathy towards each other, and the community, creates a better environment for learning and change.
Collaboration - Our platform is a story that is always being written, and we encourage contributions from outside the Buildkite team.
Sustainability - We believe that great companies grow sustainably, maintain a healthy culture, and limit their impact on the environment.
Our Approach to Diversity and Inclusion
Buildkite is committed to strengthening and maintaining our diverse and inclusive culture. We offer flexible working hours so that you can work when it most suits you.
We offer gender neutral paid parental leave policies, including superannuation payments for up to one year during unpaid leave to help address the long-term wealth disparity for those who take time off to raise children.
And we also provide everyone with:
$5,000 per year training and conference budget, for self-development and training
$2000 per year self-care budget, allowing for you to pay for gym, yoga, meditation or remedial massage.
$500 per year green commuting budget, for bicycle equipment and clothes, eletric/solar vehicle costs, or other green/public transport.
