Amazon Web Services and ‘We Power Tech’
We Power Tech is the AWS diversity and inclusion outreach program launched in 2017 aimed to increase the number of AWS technologists from underrepresented groups. The program works with diversity focused organizations and spans K-12 to working professionals globally ensuring there is a pipeline of tech talent that is as diverse as our world. Since then, we have trained hundreds of new technologists through our Underrepresented in Tech series.
In ANZ, we hosted our first ‘We Power Tech’ event in Sydney on International Women’s Day 2018. We also featured a ‘We Power Tech’ Panel Discussion as part of the Innovation Day during the Sydney Summit covering topics related to Gender, Sexual Orientation, Culture/Race, Disability, and Veteran Status.
